The Danish architectural company NORM doesn’t beat about the bush when explaining its mission: “To uncover the simplest form for a presented task with out forgetting the beauty of the shape and the particulars…to attain a stage where there is virtually practically nothing to include and practically nothing at all to consider away that can make the resolution far better.”
Nicely, a lot better talked about than done—unless you’re NORM, which does precisely what it says, as evidenced by interior function for the Copenhagen restaurant Höst. It’s hard to believe about how this meticulously nuanced space—invoking quasi-rural vignettes of weathered supplies, industrial elements, and painterly monochchromes—could possibly have been carried out far greater.
