We were taken with the easy integrity of The Murray Table, brought to our focus by Philadelphia layout and type studio Edgewood. Conceived by Edgewood founders George Dubinsky and David Short, the table’s graceful type displays the designers’ esthetic philosophy of “direct design and style,” which dispenses with superfluous specifics in favor of only vital elements. The base, a module of 3 linear triangles, is forged in lustrous bronze, and supports a superbly completed circular table ideal, constructed from locally sourced American cherry. We like The Murray Table’s modest footprint—and its rosy, burnished attractiveness has us hoping that Dubinsky and Brief have far a lot more bronze and cherry in reserve.
