Produced in Holland, and inspired by the factory smokestack, this outside fireplace/heater will turn some heads in the neighborhood. Made from corten steel, as the material corrodes it sorts into a protective, sustainable layer. Kind of a self-safeguarding shell, that nearly appears wood-like. (And in no way the metal rings give this a bit of a wine-barrel flare?) The designer, Frederik Roije, is having to pay homage to the industrial age with the smokestack as a landmark and symbol of progress. But he’s also paying out homage to the campfire, getting developed this elegant urban gathering spot. Would not this piece search fantastic on the roof deck of a contemporary framework? Or in the backyard, or on the deck at the cottage. Wherever it goes, be ready for plenty of outside gathering and conversation. And far better preserve those marshmallows useful!
The Smokestack outdoor fireplace will be the speak of the town.
The corten steel building almost appears like copper as it matures. Far much more information: Frederik Roije
