1 of the unequivocal hits of the London Layout Festival was a table lamp prototype by the Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland, and it’s straightforward to see why. Beller’s Cloche lamp is a jewel-like concoction comprised of a cast iron base, gracefully bent ash wood stem, and dome-like copper (or brass) shade which Fjetland likens to a “bluebell.” In traditional Nordic vogue, Fjetland has a keen sensitivity to each and every the parts and the development of his style and type, exemplified by the reality that Cloche can be dissembled into a easy trio of pieces: base, stem and shade. We predict Fjetland has a ringing hit on his hands.
